As more students with disabilities graduate from high school each year, the opportunity to attend postsecondary education is greater than ever before! In response to the growing number of students with disabilities attending college/university, THRIVE at the University of North Florida will be hosting our 4th annual career education event and for the first time ever will open this event up to high school students, parents, teachers to join and ‘experience’ what life at UNF is all about.
During this one-day conference, we will be hosting special sessions targeted to high school students, parents, and teachers. These sessions will include UNF staff and faculty to share “what are some of the differences between high school and college” and an afternoon session “how to prepare now for success in college” by listening to current students registered with our campus disability resource center. Each session will include interpreting for our deaf/hard of hearing guests!
We have several high schools and districts participating in this one-of-a-kind event and would love for you to join us!
Registration and conference day outline can be found at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/thrive-transition-to-success-conference-tickets-49862760860 (this cost will include a boxed lunch and a UNF t-shirt).
