Mark your calendars for Med School 101, a program intended to provide general information about applying to medical schools. Mayo Clinic Medical School faculty will hold this free session in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The program will be held in the Cannaday Building, Kinne Auditorium; parking is also free of charge.
Topics will include, among others:
Tips for preparing for medical school and the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)
Volunteering, work, and summer activities
Choosing medical schools
Completing the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application
Completing financial aid forms
Please join us for this program. Following coverage of the topics listed above, there will be a presentation by a panel of local resident physicians in various medical and surgical subspecialties. They will talk about their own lives and their paths to medicine, and you will have the opportunity to interact with them during our Q&A sessions. At the end of the session, you will also tour our new Simulation Center.
