Currently, our application for graduating high school seniors to apply to CARE is now available (application deadline: January 14, 2015). I encourage any of your students who meet our guidelines to apply to CARE if they are considering FSU as an institution. CARE serves as one of the largest academic support resources for first-generation students in the country, and has a concentrated effort to ensure access for first-generation and socioeconomically disadvantaged. Also, any student accepted into CARE is automatically accepted into FSU!
Minimum Qualifications for CARE Admissions:
• 3.0 weighted high school GPA
• 19 ACT (must include writing)
• 1330 SAT
• Be First-Generation (neither parent possessing a 4-year degree)
• Be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant
Our application and additional information can be found on our website (http://care.fsu.edu). I’ve also attached a flyer you can distribute to your students. In addition, if you have students who are applying, we offer the ability for you to track their progress in CARE’s application process. Just email their names to us and we will update you on any issues with a student’s application, as well as their admissions decision.
If you have any questions about CARE, please feel free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
