The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Dallas is an amazing college opportunity for your best students. It's not too late to apply. The program is one of the nation's most generous and flexible undergraduate merit awards, providing an essentially debt-free college education.
The McDermott award includes:
· Coverage of UT Dallas tuition, fees and book expenses.
· $1,200 monthly stipends to cover on-campus housing and living expenses.
· Cultural experiences and access to tickets for the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
· Study abroad funding of up to $12,000 per scholar.
· Post-college preparation support of up to $3,000 per scholar for academic conferences, graduate school interview travel, MCAT, LSAT, etc.
· Cohort travel — destinations have included: Santa Fe, N.M.; Austin, Texas; and Washington, D.C.
The total value of the award in benefits and tuition and fees is more than $200,000 (out-of-state) or $140,000 (in-state) over the four-year term of the award.
· Nov. 5, 2013 — Early deadline, which ensures notification concerning semifinalist status by Nov. 12.
· Jan. 5, 2014 — Regular deadline, which ensures notification concerning finalist status by Jan. 28.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship for High School Seniors
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is a new undergraduate scholarship program available to high-performing high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies.
Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive.
This highly competitive scholarship includes:
Program Details The apprentice program is designed to encourage students to pursue science and engineering careers; acquaint qualified high school students with the activities of Department of Navy (DoN) laboratories through summer science and engineering research experiences; to provide students with opportunities in and exposure to scientific and engineering practice and personnel not available in their school environment; to expose those students to DoN research and engineering activities and goals in a way that encourages a positive image and supportive attitude toward our defense community; and to prepare these students to serve as positive role models for their peers by encouraging other high school students to take more science and math courses. SEAP places academically talented high school students with interest and ability in science and mathematics as apprentices in DoN laboratories for eight weeks during the summer. These students work with scientists and engineers who act as mentors. The program offers students a unique and positive experience in their fields of interest, thus encouraging them to pursue careers in science and engineering.

Volunteer Job Description:
Volunteers would assist with: setting up, running carnival games and booths, and cleaning up of a Family Fall Festival for children with special needs. Refreshments for volunteers will be provided. Volunteers must be 16 years or older.
