McCullough Dean of Undergraduate Admission I am delighted to share exciting news about scholarships at Gettysburg College.
Starting with next year's incoming class, students will be able to apply for the Eisenhower Scholarship–designed to recognize outstanding applicants who are positively transforming their communities. The College has a long history of civic engagement with students and alumni making a difference in their communities and around the world. It is awarded to top-performing applicants within a most challenging curriculum who have demonstrated a high level of civic engagement locally, nationally, and/or internationally. More information about the Eisenhower Scholarship including application requirements and process is on our website. https://www.surfersforautism.org As a reminder, Miami University's Bridges Program application is available for students. This year's application deadline is September 27, 2019.
The Bridges Program is an overnight visit experience for high-achieving high school seniors from historically underrepresented populations or who are committed to promoting a deeper understanding of and appreciation for diversity. We welcome various diverse identities — racial/ethnic, sexual orientation and gender identity, and socioeconomic. Students who complete Bridges and enroll on the Oxford campus for Fall 2020 will be eligible to receive the Bridges Program scholarship. Last year, the Bridges Program scholarship ranged from $2,500 to $5,000 annually. Students can "stack" this scholarship with other Miami awards, which means multiple scholarships can be used for student expenses. In fact, most Bridges participants receive multiple awards, for total values ranging from half to full tuition. The Mercer University School of Engineering is pleased to once again invite seniors from your school to apply for our annual Scholarship Challenge at our Macon, Georgia campus onSaturday, November 16, 2019. We plan to award valuable scholarships this fall to high school seniors who are interested in Mercer’s engineering, industrial management and technical communications program. More information about Mercer Engineering is available at engineering.mercer.edu.
The Scholarship Challenge is a day where we meet with these students to show them our campus, our labs and technology, and give them an opportunity to meet with our faculty and students. We use a design problem or a test of math skills to help us make scholarship recommendations. Your students do not need to have applied to Mercer – this event is open to any high school senior! We value your insights as you think about your students with strong academic potential coupled with a flair for creative problem solving and teamwork. The process is very simple:
We will take it from there and contact students with details about our event and scholarship opportunities. We would appreciate having students’ applications by November 7th. We expect to offer scholarships before Christmas so that seniors can make their college plans early. We have learned how important it is to work with counselors and teachers like you and we value your assistance. The Saturday event on November 16th will include:
Feel free to contact our event coordinator, Stephen Karafa at (478) 301-2650 or via email to[email protected] with questions you or your students might have. We are proud to be able to offer this opportunity to you and your students. Thank you for helping us get the word out to your graduating seniors! Sincerely, Dr. Laura W. Lackey, P.E. Kaolin Chair and Dean of the School of Engineering Mercer University Click here to view the document.
