Florida Prepaid and Duval County Public Schools are offering a two-year college scholarship valued at $8,000 to a deserving Duval County Public School student. Fill out the application before Tuesday, April 30 for a chance to win a two-year college scholarship, valued at $8,000. We will pick a winner in May.

The ILA 1408 Scholarship Fund, Port of Jacksonville Florida has partnered with the Jacksonville Business community for many years to provide financial scholarships to qualified high school graduates entering college and continuing college students. For the past 24 years, our Scholarship Program has awarded over 100 qualified students with scholarships.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary is still looking for student volunteers to help with their annual Spring Carnival and Multicultural Fair. The event has been postponed from it's original date of Friday April 26 and instead will be held on Friday, May 3. Available volunteer hours are from 4-8:30. Volunteers will be given a free meal and volunteer hours. Thank you!
To provide a place for teens to be active, Planet Fitness will open its doors for 15- to 18-year-olds to work out for free from May 15 to September 1, as part of the Teen Summer Challenge. By opening its doors to teens across the state, Planet Fitness hopes to help teens be healthy and assist parents who want to make sure their kids are staying active.
To help motivate teens to be active, Planet Fitness will award one $500 scholarship in each state/province, and one grand prize $5,000 scholarship at the end of the summer. These scholarships can be used for academic or athletic activities or programs. Teens ages 15-18 must sign up in club. Under 18 must sign up with a parent/guardian.

On Wednesday, May 1st, Paxon will be one of five schools in the nation to host an information session for students wanting to learn more about CalTech, MIT, Pamona, and Yale. Admissions representatives from these schools will discuss academic programs, campus life, selective college admissions and financial aid. You are encouraged to attend. Connecting thru Music is a nonprofit organization that raises money to provide music therapists in schools who have children with special needs. The festival will be held at Neptune Beach Elementary school. They are looking for high school volunteers to aid with set up, running games, and take down. On behalf the Young Leaders of Today, Mayor’s Young Leaders Advisory Council, I’m A Star Foundation, and Robert E Lee High School’s EVAC, I would like to cordially invite you to Jacksonville’s first State of the Youth Town Hall that will be hosted by Congressman Al Lawson.
The Young Leaders of Today is a student based, founded, and governed organization, whose mission is to empower and engage young men and women through political, civic, and social action and involvement.
We are proud to present the State of the Youth Town Hall for the first time at the FSCJ Downtown Campus on April 29th, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The event will allow for local students from across the city to come together to discuss their opinions on mental health, violence, quality of education, and other student concerns to give the city of Jacksonville the opportunity to better understand the “state of the youth”.
We would love to see you in attendance so that you all may have the opportunity to better understand some of the concerns of students in Jacksonville and bring concerns that your students may face.

Chartwells-Thompson School Dining Services
A one-time $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to thirty students from a Duval County Public High School who plans to continue on to post-secondary education: colleges, universities, technical or trade schools.
Thompson Hospitality School Dining Services-Meal Plan Scholarship Award
A one-time meal plan scholarship will be awarded to five students from a Duval County Public High School, who plans to continue their education at a Historically Black College and University with food service provided by Thompson Hospitality. The current list of qualifying schools are as follows:
